Dan Jensen
Educated at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, where he graduated with dual degrees in Finance and Political Science, Dan began his professional career as an intern working in the Washington, D.C. office of U.S. Senator Charles Schumer. While on Capitol Hill, Dan worked closely with the senator’s finance team during the summer of 2007 as the impending credit crisis and housing downturn began surfacing into the broader economy.
Dan subsequently worked as a political intern at the national headquarters of the Republican National Committee during the summer of 2009. Dan brings a more nuanced perspective to political issues having worked for both Republicans and Democrats, but he’s never afraid to assert his strong opinions.
Dan has also served as the student representative on the SMU Board of Trustees Finance and Audit Committees. He is currently pursuing a Master’s of Science in Accounting at the SMU Cox School of Business with a focus on taxation. Dan is often mistaken for his identical twin, Matt, also a graduate of SMU. When he’s not studying, Dan enjoys golfing, skiing, and cheering on the SMU Mustangs.
